
I’m a sucker for cool diagrams and maps. I want to blow this up and slap it on the wall.
The above map (of Toronto) is the next iteration of the Geotaggers’s World Atlas Maps, which originally set out to map people’s photo tags (from Flickr, I’m assuming).
The mapping above takes it a step further and tries to identify whether the photo was taken by a local or by a tourist: blue is for tourists, red for locals and yellow for the I don’t knows.
If you happen to know the city well, you can almost pick out some of the landmarks that are producing all the tourist photos. For some cities, I bet you could even remove the actual map behind the colours and still figure out what city it is.
